ESR13 – Investigating the co-creation of public services by governments and companies

Objective: To develop a governance framework for the co-creation of public services by governments and companies. By using a design science research approach, this ESR project aims to:

  • Review co-creation related theories, open data-related theories and public service literature (through a systematic literature review).
  • Analyse public customised services that use open data and that are co-created by private stakeholders and government organizations (through case studies, including interviews).
  • Design and develop a governance framework for the co-creation of public services by (and using open data from) governments and companies (design approach).
  • Test the developed governance framework (through interviews with practitioners during the secondments).
