ESR11 – Investigating the influence of resources provided by NGOs on the usability of open government data

Objective: To investigate the influence of resources provided by NGOs on the usability of open government data. By using a design science research approach this ESR project aims to:

  • Review resource-related theories (e.g. resource Based Theory and Resource Dependency Theory), open data-related resources and factors influencing the usability of open government data (through a systematic literature review).
  • Analyse open data-related resources provided by NGOs and the type of influence these resources may have on OGD usability (in two case studies).
  • Design a model of the structural relationship between resources provided by NGOs and the usability of OGD (design).
  • Empirically test the model of structural relationships between resources provided by NGOs and the usability of OGD in practice (widely distributed questionnaire).
  • Develop the final model of structural relationship between resources provided by NGOs and the usability of OGD (Structural Equation Modelling).
