ESR8 – Technical aspects for inclusiveness across user domains in data portals

Objective: to develop methods and tools that, from a technological point of view, close the open data cycle by delivering actionable feedback to open data publishers across user domains. By analysing how open data initiatives have implemented their portals to date, this ESR project aims to:

  • Identify gaps and disservices derived from technical decisions taken in open data portals and open data initiatives related to technical interoperability that difficult closing the cycle, especially when different user domains are involved.
  • Identify practices and technical decisions taken in open data portals and open data initiatives that have implemented or supported circularity measures and initiatives.
  • Design of new methods to evaluate if the technical decisions that an open data portal implements, such as those related to the technical interoperability, may harm the degree of circularity of the portal [especially when the portal must satisfy multiple user groups from different domains whose requirements can be mutually exclusive.
  • Develop tools that deliver actionable feedback to open data publishers based on the use of open data across user domains.
