Ashraf Shaharudin
Ashraf Shaharudin (ESR15) is a PhD candidate at the Urbanism Department, Faculty of Architecture & the Built Environment, Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) since January 2022. He is also part of the Knowledge Center Open Data (KCOD) at TU Delft. For his PhD project, he studies business models of open data intermediaries. The main goal of his project is to design business models that can help overcome challenges faced by open data intermediaries such as financial sustainability, while at the same time, resulting in positive impacts on other actors in open data ecosystems. To that end, he will employ a design science methodology comprises of systematic literature and practice review and a multiple-case study. His first journal article, proposing a common definition of open data intermediaries, has been accepted by the ACM Digital Government: Research and Practice journal (soon to be published). He also presented an extended abstract reviewing current literature on business models of open data intermediaries International Conference on Open Data (ICOD) 2022.
